Millie Bright has committed her long-term future to Chelsea FC Women by signing a contract extension keeping her at the club until 2023.

The England international has become a key figure in the Blues’ backline since joining in 2014 and Bright is delighted to extend her stay with the club.

‘It’s a massive honour for a big club like Chelsea to want you to sign again, for the length that I have,’ she told chelseafc.com.

‘To stay at a club that I absolutely love to bits, the players, the staff, representing the badge, it’s everything that I’ve ever dreamt of and I couldn’t imagine myself being anywhere else,’ she said.

General manager Paul Green said: ‘We’re delighted to extend Millie’s contract, she leads by example both on and off the pitch and has played a big part in the team’s success over the years.

‘Millie has continued to develop and improve each season and is a very important player for us.

‘We feel that she is now coming in to her peak as a player and look forward to seeing how she continues to develop her game and leadership in the upcoming years.’
