Charlton Athletic have signed versatile defender Jaime Gotch from Reading Academy.
Gotch told cafcwomen.co.uk that she is looking forward to making the step up: “Coming up into women’s football is a big step from academy football where I was playing last season.
“Charlton seems an intense club so I’m looking forward to playing throughout the season.”
As well as captaining the Royals’ side to a third-place finish in the WSL Academy League, Gotch started 18 times for Reading last season with a further two appearances off the bench.
Charlton Manager Riteesh Mishra commented on his new acquisition: “I’m pleased that players from strong WSL academies are choosing us as their side to step up to the main women’s game with. I’m pleased with how Jaime has started and I think she has a lot of potential stepping up into first team football.”
