Charlton Athletic have released six players following the conclusion of the 2019/20 FA Women’s Championship season.
Riva Casley, Lise Janbu Eide, Sara Eggesvik, Georgia Evans, Pernille Gardien and Maddie Phillips all depart, while Charlie Estcourt and Lily Woodham have both returned to Reading following the expiry of their loans and goalkeeper Katie Startup has joined Brighton and Hove Albion.
Manager Riteesh Mishra told cafcwomen.co.uk: ‘I am always disappointed to see players move on. But in all cases, it was the best for everyone. I wish the players all the best in the future and I hope they will look back at their time here with pride.’
“My focus since the season closed, has been to reflect on some of the things I got wrong last season, and be really intentional in how we build the squad for the future and I am pleased with how the group is shaping up. We needed stability, and the majority of our group who we wanted to stay, are committing to us, which to me is the most important part of this off season. We need to bring in some additions in certain areas, and I am working hard to bring in the right players who will make us better and fit in to the club.”
