Cardiff Met defeated Cardiff City FC Women 3-1, aided by a first-half brace from Erin Murray, to retain the Genero Adran Trophy.

Cardiff Met ended Cardiff City’s 23-game undefeated run across all domestic competitions, as Murray converted from the penalty spot despite Ceryn Chamberlain’s efforts and later had a tap in from Ellie Preece’s cross.

Siobhan Walsh gave City hope in the final 20 minutes with a spot-kick, Tija Richardson potentially denied them an equaliser with a last-ditch sliding tackle preventing Lily Billingham going one-on-one with the keeper.

Preece capitalised on a defensive mistake before firing home to regain Met’s two-goal cushion in the 77th minute.
