Partick Thistle seal top-half spot in Scottish Women’s Premier League

Partick Thistle finished in the top half ahead of the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 split, Montrose moved further clear in SWPL2.

Partick Thistle’s Cara Henderson got the only goal at Dundee United, Motherwell did all they could on the day with three goals and three points at Aberdeen, where a Carla Boyce double helped them come from behind.

Leaders Glasgow City thrashed Glasgow Women with nine different scorers, goals from Amy Gallacher and Caitlin Hayes gave Celtic victory at Hibernian and kept them a point ahead of Rangers who hit Hamilton for six as Lisa Martinez claimed a hat-trick. Hearts defeated Spartans with captain Georgia Hunter”s opener added to by Robyn McCafferty’s own-goal.

Montrose won 4-1 at Gartcairn in the top of the table clash, London Pollard’s treble pushing them nine points clear. Queen’s Park went fourth when winning at third-placed Kilmarnock, Stirling University were held 2-2 by basement side East Fife.
