Bristol City Women have taken out options to extend the contracts of both Flo Allen and Gemma Evans but Katie Robinson departs after turning down an offer.

Evans has made 31 appearances for Bristol City and the 24-cap Wales international defender told bcfc.co.uk: “Last season was tough for the group and on a personal level with my injury, but we have a great team environment and kept fighting until the end, which saw us through. Rehab is going well and I’m determined to get back on the pitch with my team-mates as soon as possible.”

Manager Tanya Oxtoby added: “Gemma is such an important part of our squad both on and off the pitch, and a pleasure to work with. She has thrived in our environment, and we have only just scratched the surface of what she is capable of.”

Flo Allen will also stay with the Robins for the 2020/21 Barclays FA WSL season and the 20-year-old England youth international said: “The club gave me my first professional contract back in 2018 and have been great in supporting me to develop both as a footballer and as a person, whilst I have been undertaking a university degree.”

Katie Robinson, another young Lioness, will leave the club this summer after 17 WSL appearances over the last two seasons.

Oxtoby said of the striker: “She was part of the club’s plans for next season and we are disappointed she has decided to move on and we won’t be able to continue to be a part of her development.”
