Brighton & Hove Albion defender Danique Kerkdijk is to leave the club when her contract expires in June and transfer to FC Twente.

Kerkdijk joined Albion in 2019 from Bristol City and went on to make 56 WSL appearances and help establish the club in the WSL.

The 26-year-old Netherlands international is returning to Twente for a second spell, having chalked up 88 appearances for the Dutch side from 2013 to 2017.

Twente are on course to retain the Dutch Eredivisie title and have already qualified for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Also leaving the Seagulls this summer so far are; Fliss Gibbons, Dani Bowman, Aileen Whelan, Emily Simpkins and Inessa Kaagman.
