Serbian international midfielder Dejana Stefanovic has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion on an 18-month contract.

The 25-year-old joins Albion after three seasons at Valerenga in the Norwegian Toppserien, having also previously played at ASPTT Albi and Avaldsnes.

At international level, Stefanovic was a regular within the Serbian national team in their journey to the qualifying group stage of the European Championships last summer.

Head coach Jen Scheuer told brightonandhovealbion.com: “I know her from playing for the Serbia national team, she has done really well for her country.

“She is a strong midfielder and good at the defensive side, but she can build up the game as well.

“She has also got the physical strength that we need in midfield.”
