Boroughmuir Thistle battled back from 2-0 down to inflict a first defeat on ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 leaders Hamilton Academical.

Motherwell 6-1 Queen’s Park

Celtic 5-1 Montrose

Dundee United’s Morgan Steedman stunned Rangers with a goal from distance but a Jane Ross double set the hosts back on their way to victory. Camille Lafaix, Mia McAulay, Katie Wilkinson and a Kirsty Howat penalty all added to the advantage, keeping the Gers within a point of leaders Glasgow City.

Louise Brown volleyed Montrose ahead at Celtic, Amy Gallacher replying to send the sides in at one apiece. Saoirse Noonan settled the match with a second-half hat-trick, the visitors’ Demi Taylor conceding an own goal as the Hoops went fourth.

Glasgow City had six different scorers against Spartans, first-half efforts by Katie Lockwood and Natalia Wrobel later added to by Nicole Kozlova, Lisa Forrest, Aleigh Gambone and Brenna Lovera.

Hearts remained in third with Jackie Richards and Georgia Timms on target in the first-half at Aberdeen.

Hibernian slipped to fifth after being held 1-1 at home by Partick Thistle. Tegan Bowie netted for Hibs in first-half stoppage time but Cara Henderson equalised moments after the interval. Partick had Georgia Gray sent off in the 89th minute but remained on level terms.

Motherwell ran out 6-1 winners over Queen’s Park, Louisa Boyes, Mason Clark and Bailley Collins on target before Emma Craig replied. Boyes later completed her hat-trick and Sarah Gibb also got on the scoresheet.

Ayr United 0-2 Livingston
Hamilton Academical 2-3 Boroughmuir Thistle
Kilmarnock 6-1 St Johnstone
Rossvale 2-3 Gartcairn

Boroughmuir Thistle fought back from 2-0 down to inflict Hamilton’s first defeat. Kirstie McIntosh and Josephine Giard scored for the hosts but Holly Aitchison pulled one back with a penalty at the end of the first half. Cara Borthwick brought Thistle level at Aitchison got her second on the hour mark.

Kilmarnock hit St Johnstone 6-1 to cut the Accies lead at the top to eight points. Cara Gray, Abby Robinson and Louise Cowan had them three up, Olivia Hurrell replied but Gray got her second and Katie Gallagher grabbed a swift brace.

Gartcairn moved eight points in front of Rossvale after coming from behind to defeat them 3-2 away. Kayla Healy got their first goal,  Madilyn Wilson and Kaela McDonald-Nguah striking in the last ten minutes.

Livingston won 2-0 at basement side Ayr United, Rachel Walkingshaw twice scoring with free kicks in off the post during the last third of the game.
