Blackburn Rovers have signed 24-year-old former England youth international forward Lucy Shepherd from London City Lionesses.

Shepherd played in Aston Villa’s first-team for two years, a scholarship at Hofstra University then leading to her being drafted by NWSL side Washington Spirit.

Returning to the UK last summer, she joined London City and helped them finish third in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Internationally, Shepherd has been capped at U-17s and U-19 level by England.
