Birmingham City Women have signed midfielder Lily Agg from London City Lionesses on a one-year deal, with the option of a second season.

Agg played for the Republic of Ireland at the World Cup and joins the Blues after making 53 appearances for London City.

Speaking to BluesTV, the 29-year-old said: “I’m buzzing to be here. I’m glad it’s over the line now. I’m ecstatic. If you were to ask any player in the league who they think would be up there, Birmingham would be top of everyone’s list.

“I want to compete, and I want to win the league. As soon as I heard of the interest, I knew I wanted to be here.”

Agg has 10 caps for her country, while her club career had featured spells at Brighton, Arsenal, Bristol City and Frankfurt.
