Birmingham City have signed 23-year-old Northern Ireland international Rebecca McKenna on a two-year deal from Championship rivals Charlton Athletic.
McKenna has 43 caps for her country and featured in all Charlton’s 22 league matches last season, as they finished just a point short of the champions.
Speaking to BluesTV, the defender said: “I want to get in and get going now. I am excited to get to know the girls. For the long term this club is what it’s about.
“I had a chat with Amy [Mericks] and seeing where they want to take this club is what drew me in. I’ve been coached by her for a brief spell, but knowing the impact she had in such a short amount of time says a lot about her as a coach.”
