Alex Brooks, 24, has joined Birmingham City from Sheffield United, with the move completed before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
City say Brooks will be competing with Hannah Hampton for the ‘keeper’s jersey after the departure of Ann-Katrin Berger to Chelsea.
Brooks came through the ranks at Manchester City, penning a first professional contract there in 2015.
She went to Everton on a season-long loan ahead of the 2016 WSL campaign before moving to Fylde.
A former England U-18 captain, Brooks has worked previously with Blues Goalkeeper Coach Tony Elliott in the Lionesses set-up.
Brooks, considered one of the best ‘keepers in the Championship, is also a qualified coach and hopes to continue developing this aspect of her career whilst with the club.
