Birmingham City lead the Barclays Women’s Championship on goal-difference from Charlton Athletic after a fine 3-0 win at Sunderland.
Durham 1-0 Southampton
Reading 1-1 Crystal Palace
Sheffield United 2-2 Charlton Athletic
Sunderland 0-3 Birmingham City
Watford 3-3 London City Lionesses
Birmingham City had an impressive win at Sunderland, set up as Jade Pennock led a breakaway that saw Lily Agg give them an eleventh-minute lead. Choe Yu-ri forced a second goal with over an hour gone, her cross going in off the Black Cats’ Brianna Westrup. Jade Moore made certain of the victory with a third goal, following a ball from Remi Allen.
Charlton Athletic recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Sheffield United. Jodie Hutton’s free kick flew straight in to see the Blades lead on 18 minutes. The advantage was doubled just before the interval, Hutton’s strike saved but Ashley Hodson buried the rebound. Angela Addison gave the Addicks hope with a goal back approaching the hour mark, Kiera Skeels getting a stoppage-time equaliser.

Durham defeated Southampton with a dramatic stoppage-time breakthrough. Mollie Lambert slipped in Amy Andrews to dink home the decider. The Wildcats are now within four points of the fifth-placed Saints, who themselves are only two points off the top in a real scrap of a title race.
Tenth-placed Reading held fourth-in-the-table Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw, after having gone behind. Elise Hughes headed Palace in front but Lauren Wade brought the Royals level by the break.
Watford were well on course to get off the foot of the table but let a three-goal lead slip to be held by London City Lionesses. The Hornets got off to a flying start with three goals in the first seven minutes. Michelle Agyemang struck twice before forcing an own-goal. Lois Joel got one back before half time and it was via another effort from her that Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah got the Lionesses’ second with 11 minutes left. Lucy Fitzgerald then levelled the scores in stoppage-time, to complete an amazing comeback and rescue a point.
