Barclays Women’s Championship 2022-23 season starts Saturday

Barclays Women's Championship's big kick-off

Barclays Women’s Championship newcomers Southampton kick-off the new campaign when hosting Charlton Athletic on Saturday lunchtime.

The Saints begin their new challenge against the Addicks at St. Mary’s Stadium, with a 12.30pm start.

Two derbies get Sunday’s action underway, as Durham entertain northeast rivals Sunderland with all tickets sold, while in the capital it’s London City Lionesses home to Crystal Palace in another 12:30pm kick-off.

Blackburn are at Ewood Park for the visit of Sheffield United, Coventry made eleven new signings in the week and first face Bristol City.

Relegated Birmingham City have a late game at 4:30pm, when Lewes are the visitors to St.Andrews.

Highlights show 

The Barclays Women’s Championship highlights show, which launched on The FA Player last year, will be broadcast on Sky Sports this season.

The show, fronted by the Kmita twins – Rosie and Mollie – will go out on Sky Sports every Thursday, with the first edition broadcast on 25 August at 7pm on Sky Sports Football.

The show will continue to be streamed on The FA Player, going out every Monday at 7pm after the weekend’s fixtures.
