Barclays Women’s Championship: Weekend starts at Stadium of Light

Sunderland and Birmingham City kick off the second weekend of the Barclays Women’s Championship at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats and Blues go head to head on Saturday afternoon following draws in their opening games.

After the 1-1 result at home to Sunderland, Durham visit Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, while Lewes – who held Birmingham at St Andrews – entertain promoted Southampton in Sunday’s early kick-off.

The Saints lost their BWC debut at home to Charlton Athletic, who this week host an all-capital clash with London City.

Bristol City and Blackburn meet with both having made winning starts, likewise Crystal Palace who welcome Coventry.

Sunderland v Birmingham City (Sunderland AFC, 4pm)
Sheffield United v Durham (Sheffield Utd FC, 5.30pm)
Crystal Palace v Coventry United (Bromley FC, 7pm)

Sunday 28 August

Lewes v Southampton (Lewes FC, 12.30pm)
Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers (Robins High Performance Centre, 3pm)
Charlton Athletic v London City Lionesses (VCD Athletic, 4.30pm)
