Aston Villa Women have signed goalkeeper Hannah Hampton from Birmingham City on a two-year deal.

The 20-year-old made 50 appearances for the Blues and received her first senior England senior call-up in February 2020, having earlier played 19 times across the national youth sides.

Hampton also recently had a week away training with Team GB, as they prepare for the Olympics.

Villa manager Carla Ward told avfc.co.uk: “Hannah is up there with the best goalkeepers in the WSL. She is a really gifted individual who can play with both feet and is comfortable under pressure.

“Her ambition is to become England’s no.1 and hopefully we can continue to develop her and help her achieve that.”
