Katrine Veje, a left-footed winger with more than 100 caps for Denmark, will join Arsenal from Montpellier HSC.

Last season, Katrine reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League with Montpellier, and she has seen success also in Sweden with Malmo, NWSL side Seattle Reign and Denmark’s Brondby.

“I played against Arsenal in the Toulouse Cup with Montpellier and I really like the style they play and the group, so I’m very happy to be here,” Katrine told www.arsenal.com.

“I have heard a lot of good things about Joe Montemurro. I’ve had a short conversation with him just to chat and I really like him.

“When I was in Seattle, people were talking about him because a lot of players go to Australia in the off season to play there, so I’m very happy to be here and have Joe as a coach.”

Montemurro added: “Katrine is a fantastic signing for us, she will bring experience and professionalism. She understands what it takes to win trophies and her variety of experience playing in different leagues around the world should help her adapt to the competitive standard of the WSL.”
