The opening day of the new Genero Adran Leagues features a live televised game between Swansea City Ladies and Cardiff Met.
Swans’ general manager Ian Owen told swanseacity.com: “If I said we were confident, I think people would take that as us being cocky. It’s not so much being confident, it is just being assured that we know what we are doing, and the team keeps progressing year on year.”
Swansea have already been in UWCL action in Cyprus and although not managing to progress, Owen said: “Despite the losses, they were the best performances against top-class opposition that we have had in our five Champions League campaigns.”
Cardiff Met, regular title rivals to Swansea City, have seen Emily Allen return to the club from FAWNL side Oxford United. Among other acquisitions are Courtney Butt from Buckland Athletic and Alanna Torrington, previously of promotion-winning Portishead Town.
