Millwall Sign Prolific Striker

Despite being far and away the WSL Development’s top scorer last season, Rianna Dean was seemingly facing a lack of first team opportunities at Arsenal.

The England U-19 international says “I joined Millwall because now is the time for me to step it up and get first team experience. They did great in the Spring Series and hopefully we can continue that into this season now.”

Last season in the WSL Development League, Dean scored a massive 37 goals in 20 games for the Gunners.

Asked what the Lionesses can expect from her this season. she said “Hard work, commitment, desire and lots of goals hopefully!”

Manager Lee Burch talked of his new signing to millwall.fawsl.com: “We’re really pleased to have signed Rianna, she is a top player who is ready to have a big impact at Millwall Lionesses and in the WSL. She has been a long target for us and I’m happy to have beaten other clubs to her signature. Our positive Spring Series has shown that we are a club pushing forwarding and signing a player like Rianna, who is a natural goalscorer just cements the fact we are ready to continue where we left of.”

As for future signings Burch claims “I’m hoping to add a couple more players of real quality to the side soon. The group was excellent last season and they were the priority, but the squad was also small so there is room for a couple to be added and a few Development players ready to step up”.
