Cwmbran Celtic stunned Swansea City with three goals in six minutes to lead the Bute Energy Welsh Cup tie 3-2, before eventually bowing out 8-3.

Chloe Chivers struck twice for Swansea City before lower division Cwmbran overturned the deficit in a flash with a Cerys Shipley brace and one from Jade Crofts. Chivers got another couple to give the Swans the lead at the break, a Fiona Anthony own-goal made it 5-3 with Chivers going on to complete a double hat-trick and Sophie Brisland-Hancocks rounding off the scoring. Swansea will now visit Cascade in the quarter-finals on 10 December.

TNS moved back into the top half of the table, but had to come from behind to send Pontypridd United to an eighth straight defeat. Efa Preece-Jones’ early goal was soon cancelled out by Caitlin Chapman, with Isobel Redding and Emily Ridge also scoring for TNS.

Llandudno kept within striking distance by defeating Rhyl 5-2, aided by a double from substitute Ella Jones. NFA claimed a first win 4-2 against Llanfair United, sub Amy Webster getting a couple as well as Jessica Mills. Bangor got off the mark with a single-goal success through Mia Roberts at Airbus UK.

Briton Ferry Llansawel are back on top on goal-difference following a 1-0 win at Caldicot Town. Alison Witts grabbed a late winner, after Lucy Powell missed a penalty. Swansea University were 2-1 winners over morning leaders Cascade, Rebecca Batsen did concede an own-goal after Hannah Pinney’s opener but Katie Horsburgh won it with seven minutes left. Llanelli Town edged Pontardawe Town in Friday’s fixture, with a 44th-minute Stacey Webber goal.
