Women’s Regional Leagues: Goals, cards and games of two-halves

Women’s Regional League action featured nine second-half goals for Lincoln United after being level at the break, all Anstey’s five goals scored by one player and eight bookings in one match.

EASTERN – Eight cautions as Wymondham win at Wroxham

Premier – Wymondham Town went top after sinking AFC Dunstable 7-0 with the aid of a Francesca Catchpole hat-trick and a 2-0 midweek win at title rivals Wroxham in which eight yellow cards were issued, five for the visitors. Royston Town are second after recording a similar result at Wroxham, Bedford beat St Ives Town 4-1 in midweek and then edged a seven-goal thriller at Haringey Borough. Luton Town won 3-1 at Bowers & Pitsea, Colney Heath drew 2-2 with Kings Lynn Town.

1 North – Needham Market beat Biggleswade United 4-2 with braces by Lois Balfour and Lina Nagib, to leapfrog them into first place. Haverhill Rovers got off the mark with a 1-1 draw against Newmarket Town, Stacey Roper their scorer despite a red card for Keira Ball.

1 South – Leigh Ramblers lead the table after a 3-1 win at  Hutton, Herts Vipers beat Billericay Town DS 3-1 with a couple from Kelsey Millen sending them second, while Barking beat morning leadets Cheshunt 3-0 as Laura Bunton struck twice.

EAST MIDLANDS – Lincoln launch second-half rampage

Premier – Despite a 3-3 half-time score, Lincoln United then netted nine more for a 12-3 win at Loughborough Students, Abbie Murrell with five and Lauren Churcher four. Northampton Town continued their prefect start by beating Chesterfield 4-0, likewise Mansfield Town who put five past Leicester City Ladies, with three from Ellie Marshall. The goals were also flowing as Oughtibridge WM edged Rotherham United 5-4 as Millie Kenyon scored four times, Notts County were 7-2 winners over Woodlands.

1 North – It’s four wins from four for Grimsby Town and Arnold Eagles, Amber Sharp with four goals as the former won 10-1 at Appleby Frodingham, Natasha Leach with her second goal of the game coming at the death as the latter defeated Grimsby Borough 2-1. Nottingham Trent University’s Quinn Garner netted a treble in her side’s 5-4 thriller at Sleaford Town, SJR Worksop struck twice in the last ten minutes in defeating Cleethorpes Town 3-1, while Sherwood and Notts County DS ended 1-1.

1 South – Derby County Academy’s 6-1 success at Ilkeston Town kept them top on goal-difference, as Anstey Nomads’ Carmelina Colangelo got all their goals in a 5-2 win at Leicester Road. Coalville Town Ravenettes came away from Kettering Town 5-2 victors, Thrapston Town won 2-0 at Loughborough Foxes Vixens with both by Amelia Boddington, Nottingham Forest DS put eight past Peterborough United Reserves as Jessica Abdy got three.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST –  Three teams watched by three-figure crowds

Premier –  Denham United just got the better of Worthing 4-3, Millwall Lionesses saw off Whyteleafe 3-2 with Chloe Burr’s hat-trick witnessed by a crowd of 190. Dartford drew 1-1 with Fulham, New London Lionesses’ Samantha Lanza Gabian scored twice in the 3-1 result at Aylesford.

1 North – Hackney’s Amy Nicholson hit a hat-trick in the 4-2 result at Watford DS, Sport London e Benfica beat Walton Casuals 4-1, it ened goalless between Sutton United and Brentford, Dorking Wanderers scored six at Victoire, Dulwich Hamlet Reserves eight at Clapham United.

1 South – AFC Acorns came from two down at the break to beat Welling United 4-2, Chloe Higham twice on target. Hastings United hit five against Maidstone United watched by 155, Herne Bay also had over 100 fans present for a 2-0 victory over Parkwood Rangers, while Ashford Ladies got all five goals in the game at Bexhill United.

NORTH EAST – Five in a row for York RI

Premier -York City took the points 5-1 at South Shields, Jessica Round’s second goal of the day came a minute from time as Redcar Town edged Harrogate Town 3-2. Ossett United ran out 5-0 winners over Hartlepool United and Sheffield Wednesday tied 2-2 with Farsley Celtic FC.

1 North – Bishop Auckland won 9-1 at Guisborough Town where Gemma Marshall scored three times, Washington’s Amber Metcalfe matched that in a 7-0 success at Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves,  Chester le Street United also won away 4-1 at Spennymoor Town.

1 South – York RI’s fifth win on the spin came 4-0 at Millmoor, Barnsley Ladies’ Sadie Hooper got all their goals in a 3-1 win at Hepworth United, Hull United’s Millie Sharp also got three in a 4-1 result at Altofts and Farsley Celtic Juniors drew 3-3 with Bradford Park Avenue.

NORTH WEST – Cheadle check Tranmere run

Premier –  Cheadle Town Stingers were the first to deny Tranmere Rovers victory with eight goals shared, Merseyrail gaining ground on the leaders by beating Fleetwood Town Wrens 2-0. Salford City Lionesses defeated AFC Darwen 3-1, West Didsbury & Chorlton won 5-0 over Wigan Athletic.

1 North – Blackburn CSC went top by taking the first points off Blackpool with a 2-0 scoreline, Penwortham Town beat Morecambe Reserves by the same measure to go level on points with the leading pair. Preston North End pipped Accrington Stanley 4-3, Workington Reds’ Hayley Bracken scored three in a 5-2 win at ChorleyDS, eight of Penrith’s nine goals against Sir Tom Finney game after the interval.

1 South – A single goal was enough for Warrington Wolves to extend their winning start against Hindley, second-placed Chester won 3-2 at West Kirby. Didsbury defeated Curzon Ashton by the same score, Mersey Valley sent Altrincham to a 5-1 reverse and in was 1-1 between Alder and Runcorn Linnets.

SOUTHERN – Stoneham keeper sustains serious injury

Premier – Abingdon United have won all five games to date after an 8-1 win at Winchester City Flyers, extending their lead as Ascot United ended Moneyfields perfect start with a 2-2 tie. Woodley United were 2-1 winners over Wycombe Wanderers, while Abingdon Town were held 1-1 by visitors Eastleigh.

Division 1 – AFC Bournemouth DS’s top of the table clash with AFC Stoneham was abandoned, visiting keeper Sian Lodge suffering a leg fracture in the 15th minutes. Bournemouth Sports went second with a 5-0 win over Woking, New Milton Town’s Pearl Mortimer featured with a five-goal haul in a 6-0 result at Abbey Rangers. Chichester City beat Milton United 4-2 and Southampton Women’s Reserves sunk Eversley & California 6-2.

SOUTH WEST – Bristol Rovers become new leaders

Premier – Ilminster Town ended AFC St Austell’s 100% record with a 3-3 draw with Jodie Cornwall and Lucy Solloway clinching hat-tricks for their respective sides. Torquay United took the points 3-2 at Marine Academy Plymouth, Sherborne Town won 2-0 at Middlezoy Rovers. Forest Green Rovers hit a dozen against Bideford and Royal Wootton Bassett Town 9-1 scoreline against Bishops Lydeard inlcuded four from Libby Davies.

1 East – Chipping Sodbury Town scored four unanswered goals at Frome Town, Swindon Town DS’s Ella Rooke got the sole goal at Paulton Rovers and Keynsham Town Reserves beat AEK Boco 2-0.

1 North – Bristol Rovers moved top on goal-difference when sending hosts Cheltenham Town DS to a 7-1 defeat, Frampton Rangers slipped to second despite a Lucie Hulin winner against Almondsbury. Downend Flyers drew 4-4 with Bristol Ladies Union after trailing 3-1 at the break, Oldland Abbotonians drew 2-2 withWeston Super Mare.

1 West – Hannah Drummond’s treble wasn’t enough for Liverton as Helston left with a point from a 3-3 draw, Plymouth Argyle U-23s put four past Feniton.

WEST MIDLANDS – Sutton Coldfield stun Stourbridge

Premier – Sutton Coldfield Town stung leaders Stourbridge 3-0 with a 17-minute Sophie Levick hat-trick, to go level on points with the leaders. Lichfield City are second after overcoming a half-time deficit to defeat Coundon Court 4-1. Crusaders were 5-1 winners over Worcester City, Kidderminster Harriers 9-1 victors against Coventry Sphinx and Redditch United edged Tamworth 2-1.

1 North – AFC Telford United’s lead was narrowed to one goal as they were held 0-0 at Sandwell, while Shifnal Town defeated Darlaston Town 5-0 aided by a Rebecca-Lee Bown treble. Port Vale sent Coventry City to a 5-1 loss and Shrewsbury Town hit double-figures against Wyrley.

1 South – There were wins for the top three, Leamington Lions 2-1 versus Cookley Sports, Solihull Sporting 5-1 at Sedgley & Gornal United and Knowle 4-0 against Droitwich Spa, while Kingfisher won 3-0 at Rugby Borough.
