West Ham United Women have signed former Arsenal midfielder Ruby Grant on a short-term deal.
“I am extremely grateful to be here,” Grant told whufc.com. “To be working with the team here and with Matt [Beard] is going to be really good. I’m hoping to get a lot from it and develop in the next couple of months.
“The Barclays FA WSL is a great league and it’s always be a dream of mine to play in this league. I’m hoping to get my head down, work hard, and get some good minutes under my belt.”
Head coach Matt Beard said: “I am delighted to welcome Ruby to West Ham United.
“Due to the pandemic, Ruby has been training with us and I have been really impressed with her. She is a technically very gifted player, who can play in all three midfield positions, and is a great addition to our group.”
Grant spent seven years with the Gunners, working her way through the ranks, made her breakthrough into the Arsenal first team during the 2018/19 campaign at 16 years-old, and was named Player of the Round in the FA Women’s Cup after scoring a hat-trick in the fourth-round 4-0 win over Crawley Wasps.
