Sari van Veenendaal signs for PSV Women

PSV Women have signed Netherlands captain and former Arsenal goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal from Atlético Madrid on a free transfer.

Van Veenendaal (30) told psv.nl: “I’ve made a deliberate choice to return to Holland. PSV have taken great strides forward and their ambitions appeal to me. Just look at he sparkling displays that players like Snoeijs, Nouwen and Smits have put in with the national team; it speaks volumes for the talent level at PSV Women.

“I want to use my experience to help the club and at the same time I want to keep learning. I am fully motivated to do well and become better.”

Sandra Doreleijers, PSV’s General Manager and Head of Women’s Football, added: “We are delighted that Sari has chosen to embark on the next step in her development with us. We are proud that Sari van Veenendaal will show her skills in the Dutch Eredivisie again.”
