She Kicks’ partners Sports Recruiting USA are excited to announce the details of their three showcase events which will be taking place this summer in Watford, Doncaster and Nottingham.
Every year, in the summer months, Sports Recruiting USA give players the opportunity to play in front of American college and university coaches. Whether coaches are at the event in person, or watching from across the pond, the players are given a great platform to perform. With over 40 players in attendance at last year’s event, SRUSA are excited about providing this opportunity to an even greater number of players this year.
The first summer showcase event will be in the south of England in Watford, on Saturday 11th May. The second showcase will be in the north of England at Astrea (formerly Balby Carr) Academy in Doncaster on Saturday 22nd June and the final event will be in the Midlands at the fantastic Eastwood CFC on Sunday 14th July. Each venue has first class facilities and the top quality 3G surfaces will enable the players to excel – perfect places for their summer showcases.
Each event, on the day, will include some technical work with UEFA qualified head coach Jodie Whitford-Stark before heading into 11v11 game play. We will also be looking to have former All-American student athletes in Leah Galton and Jade Pennock in attendance, who will give an invaluable insight in what it is like being a student athlete in America. Jodie explains a little bit more about the day:
“After the success of the summer showcase events last year, we are excited to be able to offer the opportunity to players again this year. Opening the event up to all players gives everyone a great oppprtunity to perform and with the possibility of coaches in attendance and the event being filmed, all players will receive great exposure. There is a presentation on the day for new players to gain valuable information about the student athlete route over in America as well.”
SRUSA ambassador and current professional player with Manchester United, Leah Galton talks about last year’s event in Doncaster:
“The whole event was set up with the players and parents in mind. We want to give the player the best platform to perform and the opportunity to find out more information about scholarships and the student athlete route. The summer showcase events give this opportunity and I would recommend anyone who is interested in this route to come along.”
Along with players that are looking to go over as student athletes in the next couple of years, current student athletes are always invited back to speak with the girls about their experiences and how hard they need to work before heading over to the U.S.
