Regional League results on Sunday 7th October brought three divisional changes of leadership, with Coundon Court, Leek Town and Woodley United currently among the table-toppers.
EASTERN – Super-sub’s hat-trick seals first win for Wanderers
PREMIER – Brentwood Town went three points clear at the top with a 2-1 win over Colney Heath. Peterborough Northern Star are up to fourth after hitting hosts AFC Sudbury 6-1 (including two each for Emma Pollard and Cassie Steward), a scoreline matched by Bedford at home to AFC Dunstable with braces by Carissa Kaczorowski and Eden Kibron. Royston Town ran in nine goals at Haringey Borough.
ONE – Stevenage Reserves’ Daniella Martucci hit a hat-trick in their 4-1 win at Hertford Town that put them six points ahead of the rest. King’s Lynn Town won a nine-goal thriller with Hutton – in which Jodie Hopkins-Duckhouse got a couple for them – to go second. Ipswich Wanderers’ first win came 6-0 at home to Hatfield Peverel, with Madelaine Fairbrother coming off the bench to score three times. Newmarket Town and Lawford shared four goals, Hoddesdon Town Owls and St Ives Town finished 0-0.
EAST MIDLANDS – Six-goal Scott secures first three-pointer for Woodlands
PREMIER – Oughtibridge WMSC are second following their 5-1 success at Mansfield Town, Ollerton Town held Peterborough United 2-2, Loughborough Students were lifted to fourth with a 4-2 defeat of Leicester City Ladies and
Woodlands’ first win was a big one, 8-0 over Eastwood with six for Jody Scott.
1 NORTH – It’s back-to-back wins for Boston United after a 4-1 score at Hykeham Town, with Sleaford United goal-difference behind having leapfrogged Lincoln Moorlands-Railway whom they edged 4-3. Calverton Miners Welfare had a winning start 2-1 at Grimsby Borough thanks to a Hayley Brown double, Ilkeston Town overcame Arnold Town 3-1 with three goals in the final 20 minutes.
1 SOUTH – Loughborough Foxes Vixens leapfrogged Lutterworth Athletic into third when beating them by the odd goal in five, Notts County got their season up and running 3-1 at Corby Town.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Fulham frustrate Phoenix
PREMIER – AFC Phoenix had to settle for a point from a 3-3 draw at home to next-to-bottom Fulham, Aylesford got off the mark with a Bethany Hulme goal at Parkwood Rangers.
LEAGUE CUP: GROUP A – Eastbourne Town had Victoria Phillips sent off in a 4-1 defeat at London Kent Football United.
GREATER LONDON PREMIER – The top five are all on the same points after Tottenham Hotspur Development sent Colne Valley to a 4-1 reverse and Hackney posted a 3-1 result against Regents Park Rangers, Harriet Browning twice on target. Victoire’s first points came 4-1 at Watford Development with three second-half goals, Josie Elliott with a couple.
SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Six straight wins now for Crawley Wasps Reserves with a 6-1 outcome at Bexhill United, Millie Carter and substitute Amy Clark netting two each. Saltdean United went down 5-1 at home to second-placed Ashford, Eastbourne Ladies opening victory came 3-1 over Lewes Foundation and Phoenix Sports went above Worthing into third when defeating them 2-1 away.
NORTH EAST – Five star Sunderland West End & Ossett United
PREMIER – Harrogate Town held top spot with a Sophie Tinson treble in the 4-1 defeat of Farsley Celtic, while Durham Cestria kept up their 100% start by hitting hosts Hartlepool United 7-1. South Shields sent York City home beaten 5-1 as Paige Lester and Dannika Purdham scored two apiece, Castleford White Rose came through 4-1 at Rotherham United, Ryton & Crawcrook Albion Tynedale shared six goals with Wallsend BC.
1 NORTH – Sunderland West End made it five wins from five when walloping Prudhoe Town 13-1 with three each from Kay Mills, Alexandra Ross and sub Kristen Whitfield. Alnwick Town have taken maximum points from two games following their five goals at Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves, Washington won 4-1 at Cramlington United and Consett saw off Chester le Street Town St. Cuthberts 3-1.
1 SOUTH – Ossett United’s fifth win on the trot was down to an effort by sub Chelsea Schofield in the match with second-placed Barnsley Development. Altofts had a strong 5-1 result against Wakefield and Emma Lansdall featured with a four-goal haul in Harrogate Railway’s first victory, 7-2 versus York RI.
NORTH WEST – Latics go level with leaders
PREMIER – Wigan Athletic’s 5-3 win over Sir Tom Finney put them level on points with leaders Mossley Hill, Tranmere Rovers are third after getting all four goals in the game at Manchester Stingers. Fleetwood Town Wrens were frustrated in a 1-1 tie at home to Merseyrail, Accrington overtook Penrith when picking up a 1-0 win over them.
1 NORTH – The top of the table clash saw Blackpool 3-0 winners over Carlisle United, Blackburn CSC are up to second after an 11-2 goal-fest with Crosby. Morecambe Reserves crashed 9-2 at Penwortham Town, Cammell Laird scored eight at Burscough Dynamo, Preston North End beat Leigh RMI 3-1 and Bury were victorious 3-2 at Workington Reds.
1 SOUTH – Altrincham’s 4-2 result with Northwich Vixens means they’ve not dropped a point in five games so far, while second-placed Curzon Ashton just got the better of Warrington Wolverines in a seven-goal thriller.
Liverpool Feds Reserves jumped over Chester whom they beat 2-0 and Wythenshawe Amateurs claimed a first point from a 3-3 tie with Stockport County Blues.
SOUTHERN – Woodley oust Saints
PREMIER – Woodley United’s 3-0 win at lowly Newbury put them top of the table ahead of Southampton FC, while Lauren Broadhurst’s stoppage-time levelled earned Ascot United a 1-1 draw with Barton Rovers.
ONE – Wycombe Wanderers had a 5-1 result at Wokingham & Emmbrook which was a fourth win on the spin, Moneyfields made it three on the trot when whipping Wargrave 14-0, eleven of the goals in the second half. Nicola Moore scored all three for Alton who defeated Shanklin 3-1, Philippa Holden had a brace in Southampton WFC Development’s 7-1 scoreline at Basingstoke Town.
SOUTH WEST – Frampton win at Cheltenham
PREMIER – Bishops Lydeard’s 2-1 result over Ilminster Town sealed their fourth win from as many games. Keynsham Town Development picked up three points 2-0 at Portishead, Callington Town’s five against Forest Green Rovers included a couple from Lucy Jones, while Danni Wyatt was dominant with four as Torquay United shot down Downend Flyers 7-1.
1 EASTERN – Frampton Rangers got the only goal at leaders Cheltenham Town Development with a Madeleine Brown effort. A Lani Dickinson double for Swindon Spitfires at Wootton Bassett Town sent them second on goal-difference, Trowbridge Town also have nine points after 4-2 defeat of Swindon Town Development, while Almondsbury banked a first victory 4-0 over Laverstock & Ford
1 WESTERN – Plympton – in pole position – were 5-1 winners over Weston Super Mare with two each for Samantha Metters and Shannon Workman. Second and third drew 1-1 despite Alphington having Laura Burwood dismissed against Plymouth Argyle Reserves. Bude Town 1-4 There was a first win for Feniton 4-1 at Bude Town, Weston Mendip just got the better of St Agnes 3-2 and Bideford put five past Pen Mill
WEST MIDLANDS – Coundon Court & Leek Town go top
PREMIER – Coundon Court are new leaders having beaten Lye Town 5-1 while Coventry Sphinx lost to the only goal at Redditch United. Stockingford AA Pavilion’s perfect start was abruptly ended with a 4-1 home loss to Sutton Coldfield Town, whereas Worcester United clinched first points 2-0 against Goldenhill Wanderers. Elsewhere, Crusaders netted a 7-2 win at Knowle.
1 NORTH – Leek Town replaced AFC Telford United at the top, the former 4-1 winners at Shifnal Town, the latter losing 6-3 at Sandwell. Basement pair Port Vale and Florence finished goalless and Stoke City Development had a walkover against Wyrley.
1 SOUTH – Sedgley & Gornal United have won all six games after a 3-0 result at Leamington, Solihull United stormed to a 12-0 local derby win at Solihull Sporting with ten second-half goals, hat-tricks coming from Cat Harris and Hayley Wilford. Rugby Town tied 2-2 with Stourbridge and Kingfisher beat Coventry City 3-1.
