Katie Wilkinson (23) makes the switch to London Bees and becomes Luke Swindlehurst’s first signing of the January transfer window

Wilkinson makes the move from Aston Villa where she has been a long term servant and opted to move to London Bees, signing a 2 year contract.

Previously top scorer for Villa, Wilkinson hopes to bring goals and is positive about the future of her new club.

She told the club’s website: “Luke has been very honest in what he wants from me as a player and I’m hopeful I can give him and the team what they need. From recent discussions and being in and around the club, it’s evident the club are driven and focused on improving all the time. To be a part of a club with ambition and backing is exciting and I’m looking forward to helping the team in some way to get as many 3 points on the board as we can.”

Swindlehurst spoke with delight at the new acquisition to the team;

“I’ve watched Katie over a number of seasons and am fully aware of what she can bring. At 23 she has a number of matches under her belt within the WSL and fits the profile I was looking for. We are thinking long term and she should now be approaching her peak playing years and I’m confident we can get the best from her.”
