The prolific Tash Knapman was on target twice as Plymouth eliminated Chichester. Tori Marks came off the bench to score in-between, Jade Widdows having equalised for City.
Guiseley fought back from two down to dump Huddersfield out of the League Cup. Katie Nutter and Sarah Danby scored for the Terriers but Nikki Berko and Ebony Njie hit back before a last-minute strike from Emily Scott sealed the tie.
Cardiff City Ladies came through a potentially tricky game with Leyton Orient. All the goals came in the second half, Cori Williams with two for City and Ella Powell getting their other, while Leyre Bastyr scored for the O’s.
Brighouse accounted for Chester le Street with a Jodie Redgrave treble in their 5-1 scoreline. The visitors were down to ten players shortly before the interval, with Kimberley Wild given a straight red for foul and abusive language. Aimi Beresford and Charlotte Proud also scored for the home side, Nichole Goundry-Havery getting a consolation for the visitors.
Leicester City WFC saw off Bolton 3-0 and although Rosie Axten got an early goal, it was the last quarter of an hour before the underdogs were definitely out. Olivia Mitcham got the second goal and then Axten doubled her tally late on.
West Ham’s Family Fun Day meant they had a four-figure crowd for their Plate clash with QPR. Chloe Burr and Amber Stobbs had the Hammers two up at half-time, Rangers replied just after the break through Katie Knell but Chenise Austin secured the win from the spot.
Fylde edged out Burton by the odd goal in five, the Brewers making a brave effort before bowing out to a 76th-minute goal. Sophie Charlton’s early effort was cancelled out by an own-goal before Lauren Davies restored the advantage. Although Sophie Corden equalised for Burton, Holly Kelsh got the decider for the hosts.
Katie Thompson got a couple in Hull’s 5-1 win at Morecambe, where Hope Knight, Rachel Ackroyd and Liberty Bott also got on the scoresheet.
Crewe were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes at Mossley Hill through Beth Grice and Leanne Derry. The hosts pulled one back before Amanda Fallon restored a two-goal cushion, which proved to be enough even though Mossley soon scored their second.
Newcastle were indebted to Steph Ord for their win over Radcliffe Olympic, as she scored twice in the second half, breaking the deadlock on 55 minutes before netting again with 20 minutes left.
