#WU19EURO Qual Rd: Young Lionesses and Scotland Women win groups

Both England and Scotland went through to the UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship Elite Round as group winners.

Scotland topped Group 4 winners after replacing Poland in pole position, Jennifer Smith with the only goal of the game after 9 minutes.

England won Group 11 when hitting Serbia for six, with five goals in the last 33 minutes. Jessica Park got a hat-trick and there was a goal each for Holly Manders, Ebony Salmon and Annabel Blanchard.

Second-placed Northern Ireland were sunk 7-0 at Seaview in the Group 5 decider by Norway, for whom there were six different scorers.

Although Wales bowed out, they finished with a 3-0 win over Moldova, Morgan Rodgers’ quick brace added to in stoppage-time by Alice Griffiths.

Republic of Ireland had to settle for the runners-up spot in Group 9 after being sent to a 6-0 defeat by table-topping Netherlands.

The top two sides in every group plus the four third-placed teams with the best record against the top two in their section go into the elite round draw on 21 November 2019,
