#WU17EURO Qual Rd: Wales Women concede early goals in loss to Russia

Wales U-17s lost to Russia

Wales went down 3-0 to Russia in their opening UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship qualifying round Group 6 game at Ringkoebing Stadium.

They were two down inside quarter of an hour, as Alana Chochieva struck 8 minutes in and then Natalya Trofimova converted a penalty.

The third goal didn’t arrive until second-half stoppage time and was scored by Elizaveta Semenova.

In the same group, Denmark thrashed North Macedonia 11-0, with hat-tricks by Sophie Gravesen and substitute Emma Velatanlic.

Wales return to the same venue on Wednesday to play hosts Denmark, before completing their group fixtures against North Macedonia on Saturday 28 September at Skjern Stadium.
