Goalkeeper Bethan Davies has made a permanent move to FA Women’s National League North side Guiseley Vixens, following a loan spell at the end of last season from WSL 2 champions Doncaster Rovers Belles.
A former Wales U-19 international, Davies has also played for London Bees and was in goal for them during their famous Continental Tyres Cup penalty shootout victory over Chelsea.
Davies explained her move to the Vixens: “At 20, although playing in WSL2 since 16, I’m still relatively inexperienced for a goalkeeper. I’m taking this opportunity to get consistent match experience for a whole season at a great club and I’m hoping to develop as a player and challenge myself.
“Yeah, I really enjoyed my loan spell here last season and coming back to play against Leicester, to help win the team’s first three points of the 2017-18 campaign was a special highlight for me.”
Goalkeeping coach Tim Griffiths commented: “I’m ecstatic to see Beth back in the fold with us for the new campaign! A player who’s always pushing herself further and always willing to put the hours in on and off the field. She is a stellar signing for the club!
“Beth was instrumental last year while on loan from Doncaster, no more so than in our first win last season at Leicester with a valiant display.”
