#WPWLCup: Two five-goal away wins for Cardiff clubs

Abergavenny, Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Met made winning starts to their Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup campaigns.

GROUP 1

Abergavenny 2-0 Briton Ferry Llansawel
Cascade YC 0-5 Cardiff Met

GROUP 2

Cyncoed 2-7 Cardiff City FC
Port Talbot Town P-P Swansea City

Abergavenny went ahead 8 minutes before the break against Briton Ferry Llansawel through Lyndsey Davies, with Eliza Atkins doubling the lead on the hour mark.

Cardiff Met got off to a flying start against Cascade, as Nealy Martin and Chloe O’Connor both struck in the first five minutes. The Archers added three more in the last 20 minutes, Erin Murray, a Jodie Passmore penalty and Shannon Evans effort giving them a 5-0 win.

Cardiff City FC also wasted no time in getting in front at Cyncoed, where Phoebe Poole bagged a brace in the opening dozen minutes. Sophie Norman made it 3-0 and although Millie Jones replied, goals from Kate Jeremiah and Kanisha Underdown made it 5-1 by the break. Alison Witts got the hosts second, but Poole completed her hat-trick and Norman doubled her tally for a 7-2 result.
