Cardiff Met leapfrogged capital rivals Cardiff City FC into second place in The Orchard Welsh Premier Womens League with all four goals at Aberystwyth.

Erin Murray bagged a brace in the first 10 minutes at Aberystwyth and Jodie Passmore added the Archers’ third before the break. Alexis Rienks completed the scoring for Cardiff Met with 54 minutes played.

Swansea City etended their lead at the top when winning 2-0 at Port Talbot Town, where Sarah Adams scored after only 2 minutes and  Katy Hosford got the second soon after the interval.

Cyncoed put eight past Llandudno as both Alison Witts and Lauren Lyons recorded hat-tricks. Athina Varnava notched a double, with Stacey Tradewell getting a consolation for the visitors.

Bethel needed extra-time to beat Rhyl in the FA of Wales Women’s Cup and set up a massive test for the North Wales League side away at Swansea City in the quarter-finals. Initially behind to a Naomi Taylor goal, Bethel were lated pegged back to 2-2 but took a two-goal lead in the added half-hour before Rhyl got one back.

Connah’s Quay Nomads overcame Denbigh Town 8-3 away with trebles by Noelani Bouckley and Kate Horne. the newcomers’ reward being a home tie against Port Talbot Town in February.
