Lincoln United and Oughtibridge War Memorial both enjoyed Women’s Regional League silverware success on Sunday.
EAST MIDLANDS – Lincoln United win trophy in extra-time
Trevor Clifton Trophy Final: Lincoln United lifted the Trevor Clifton Trophy after victory over fellow Division 1 North side Chesterfield at the Finals Day hosted by Arnold Town FC. Olivia Smith’s free kick in the second period of extra-time proved decisive, following a goalless 90 minutes.
Trevor Clifton Plate Final: Oughtibridge War Memorial were celebrating following their 3-2 defeat of Loughborough Students in the Plate final. Jennie Selman, Millie Kenyon and Emily Fowler were on target for the victors, Hollie Congrave and Elizabeth White replied for the runners-up.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – QPR beaten twice in two days
Group A – Queens Park Rangers suffered home defeats on successive days in midweek, 5-2 to Saltdean United then 8-1 to group winners Ashford Town (Middx), for whom Nicole Douglas netted a hat-trick.
Group C – Aylesford’s Beth Hulme bagged a brace but they were held 3-3 at home by Herne Bay.
NORTH EAST – West End win
Subsidiary Cup: Sunderland West End were 2-0 winners over higher division Redcar Town in a midweek quarter-final tie. Both goals came in the first half from Jael Anderson and Alex Ross.
