Finland qualified for Women’s Euro 2022 as group winners by beating second-placed Portugal 1-0 with a stoppage-time Linda Sällström goal.
The Finns created more opportunities in the sub-zero temperatures in Helsinki but left it until the 93rd minute to grab a winner, thereby moving three points clear of their visitors in Qualifying Group E.
Portugal forced a number of corners but without finding the net, including an effort from Joana Marchão just before the hosts struck.
Although guaranteed to finish second in the table, Portugal are almost certain to have to qualify for the finals via the play-offs, such is the margin with which they need to beat Scotland on Tuesday in order to progress automatically.
