West Ham United’s 30-year-old French international forward Viviane Asseyi has signed a contract extension with the club.

She joined the Hammers in 2022 and since then has missed just one of the team’s 56 fixtures played.

Asseyi told whufc.com: “I’m really happy to extend my contract at West Ham United and continue playing in the WSL,”

“It can sometimes be difficult for someone to feel at home in another country, but at West Ham I feel like east London is home. I have great support from my teammates, from the staff and everyone involved at the club. The fans support us home and away, and it feels like a big family.”

Manager Rehanne Skinner said: “Vivi is an important asset to the team – we saw proof of that with some vital goals that she scored last season. Our style of play has allowed us to get Vivi on the ball more, where she can be a creative attacking threat and exploit weaknesses in the opposition’s defence.

“We know that Vivi will continue to have a hugely positive impact on the team. I have no doubt there is more to come from her, which is a very exciting prospect looking ahead to next season.”
