Watford came from behind to beat FA Women’s National League Southern Premier title rivals Oxford United 2-1 at Vicarage Road.
The result, in front of a crowd of 1,058, put Watford top by two points but Oxford do have a game in hand, likewise Ipswich Town who are a point further behind.
Tash Stephens opened the scoring for the U’s with a header, Bianca Baptiste levelled from 20 yards midway through the second half, substitute Araya Dennis then dramatically opening her account for Watford when catching the keeper off her line.
Hull City defeated fourth-placed Barnsley 2-1 to move up to fifth in Division One North. Efforts from Helen Lynskey and Laura Bartup lifted Hull above Leeds United on goal-difference, with the visitors replying in stoppage time.
Due to a waterlogged pitch, the Division One South West game between Moneyfields and title-chasing Cardiff City Ladies was called off.
