Chelsea held Barcelona in front of 72,262 but bowed out of the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals 2-1 on aggregate.
As in the first leg, Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen had the ball in the net early on but this time it was disallowed for handball.
Ann-Katrin Berger had to claw away a dangerous Aitana Bonmati cross shot, while Mariona Caldentey hit a good chance over from 12 yards.
Graham Hansen did double Barca’s aggregate lead in a swift attack after the hour mark.
Chelsea quickly levelled on the night, Guro Reiten on the follow up with Sandra Paños having parried Sam Kerr’s shot.
Emma Hayes’ side had other openings but the closest to another goal was Salma Paralluelo’s effort pushed away by Berger.
Barcelona will play Arsenal or Wolfsburg in the final on 3 June at Eindhoven.
