The shortlisted nominees for the Vauxhall England Young Player of the Year 2017/18 are Lauren Hemp, Beth Mead, Esme Morgan, Ella Toone and Keira Walsh. Make sure you get your votes in, to help determine the winner, who will be announced at the 20thannual FA Women’s Football Awards on Friday 1 June.

Lauren Hemp (England U19s) was the winner of the 2017 award. The Bristol City Women forward has impressed ever since, netting four goals in seven games for the women’s U19 side this season.

Beth Mead (England Senior) has represented England from U15s through to the senior team. Mead has flourished this season since moving out to the wing, earning her first full England cap against Wales in April 2018 under new boss Phil Neville.

Esme Morgan (England U19s) has enjoyed a breakthrough season, making six appearances for the U19s. She made her debut against Kazakhstan in November and captained Rehanne Skinner’s outfit to victory over France in La Manga in March.
Ella Toone (England U19s) began her England U19 career in style, scoring a brace on her debut against Kazakhstan last October. She has gone on to become a regular for the team, netting six goals in eight appearances.

Keira Walsh (England Senior) received her first senior call-up last November, making her debut against Kazakhstan. She was also part of the senior squad that travelled to America for the SheBelieves Cup this year and also featured in the Lionesses’ World Cup qualifier against Wales in Southampton.

Follow England as they continue their 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign this summer. The Lionesses travel to Moscow on 8th June to face Russia, before facing Wales on 31st August and Kazakhstan on 2nd September.
