Norton & Stockton Ancients secured the North East League title on Wednesday with a 6-0 victory at fourth-placed Farsley Celtic.

Needing only to avoid defeat to be crowned champions ahead of Durham Cestria, they got a 15th-minute goal through Vicki Burton to calm any nerves.

Shannon Reed and Nyci Thorns extended the lead to 3-0 by the break, with further goals coming in the final 15 minutes.

Thorns got her second, with Kate McSorley and Chelsea Bell also on target.
