Chelsea eventually overcame Everton 3-0 in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Fifth Round at Kingsmeadow.

Everton’s Claire Emslie forced a fine save from Ann-Katrin Berger in a competitive first 25 minutes, while Chelsea’s Beth England hit the woodwork from distance.

The hosts took the lead inside the half-hour, with Sam Kerr setting up Guro Reiten to tuck the ball into the corner of the net.

It might have been 2-0 at the break but England’s glancing header from Kerr’s cross was flagged for offside.

Millie Bright hit the Everton bar from outside the box and when Kerr was through on goal, Sandy MacIver saved with her legs.

Berger had to tip the ball over the top when Izzy Christiansen’s free kick came off the head of Jess Carter.

Chelsea doubled their lead with 13 minutes left, Kerr lashing the ball into the roof of the net after a delivery to the edge of the box was not dealt with.

Kerr was again involved with a chip into the six-yard box, as Drew Spence’s deflected header made it 3-0.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals will be broadcast live on Friday 28 May during Women’s Football Weekly on talkSPORT 2, with host Faye Carruthers and guest Lianne Sanderson pulling out the numbers around 12.30pm.
