#UWCL: Manchester City Women ease into last sixteen

Manchester City reached the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 16 by dismissing Lugano but Hibernian bowed out to Slavia Praha.

Janine Beckie hit a hat-trick as Man City increased their advantage over Swiss side Lugano and Paulime Bremer came off the bench to again find the net in the 4-0 victory.

Hibs already trailed 4-1 before their trip to Prague and although Amy Gallacher cancelled out an early goal for the hosts, a Tereza Kožárová double helped Slavia to a 5-1 result.

Bayern Munich were made to endure a tense finish by Göteborg, whose Rebecka Blomqvist levelled the aggregate scores in the last 10 minutes before the German hosts edged through on the away goals rule.

Dutch side FC Twente could afford a 2-1 home defeat by Austria’s St.Pölten as they still won 5-4 over the two ties.

Kazakhstan’s BIIK-Kazygurt eliminated Anderlecht following a 2-0 scoreline, Kennedy Mae Rose’s opener added to by a late Alina Litivenko penalty.

Barcelona extended their lead over Juventus tgrough Alexia Putellas and a Cristiana Girelli own-goal on their way to a 4-1 result over the two legs.

Caroline Møller’s brace saw Fortune Hjorring defeat Vllaznia 2-0 on the day and 3-0 overall.

Wolfsburg added five to their ten in the first leg against Mitrovica and Nikita Parris bagged a brace as holders Lyon went one better on aggregate with Ryazan.
