Lyon made the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals but only after they were given a scare by Brøndby.
UWCL Round of 16 2nd leg
Brøndby 1-3 Lyon (Agg: 1-5)
LSK Kvinner 0-2 Wolfsburg (Agg: 0-4)
Fortuna Hjørring 0-5 Barcelona (Agg: 0-9)
Bayern Munich 3-0 BIIK-Kazygurt (Agg: 9-1)
St. Pölten 0-2 Rosengård (Agg: 2-4)
Brøndby reduced Lyon’s aggregate lead to 3-2 with an early Nanna Christiansen effort, before the holders hit back with three goals. Nikita Parris and Melvine Malard turned the match around by half-time and Wendie Renard converted a 50th-minute penalty. Lyon broke another record with their 30th consecutive match unbeaten in Europe.
Wolfsburg repeated their 2-0 1st leg result over LSK Kvinner with both goals just before the break. Ina Gaudal conceded and own-goal and Ingrid Syrstad Engen.
Rosengård won through 2-0 on the night in St. Pölten, despite being held 2-2 in their home leg. Emma Berglund gave them a 26th-minute lead and Mimmi Larsson got their second close to the interval.
Barcelona added five times to their 4-0 advantage when away to Fortuna Hjørring, aided by one goal in either half from Aitana Bonmati. Mariona Caldentey netted from the spot in the second-half, after which Asisat Oshoala and Marta Torrejón also got on the scoresheet.
Bayern Munich were restricted to a 3-0 scoreline by BIIK-Kazygurt, after last week’s 6-1 away win for the German side. Lina Magull netted from the spot just two minutes in, Simone Boye Sorensen got the second and Sydney Lohmann converted another penalty on the hour mark.
Thursday sees Manchester City defend a 3-0 advantage at Fiorentina (live on BT Sport 1 from 12.45pm), PSG take a 5-0 lead to Sparta Praha next week but the draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals are being made live on uefa.com at 11am UK time on Friday 12 March.
