Southampton have signed two-time Barclays Women’s Championship winning midfielder Aimee Palmer from Leicester City.
She achieved promotion to the WSL with both Bristol City and Manchester United, scored five goals in 12 games while on loan to Sheffield United, while internationally has been capped up to U-21 level by England.
Palmer told southamptonfc.com: “I’m really excited to finally get it over the line, I’m really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get the boots on and get started.”
“Towards the end of the previous season I said to my agent, it’s Southampton or no-one if I’m coming down to the [Championship]. It’s been a club I’ve always admired how they play so I’m excited to get going.”
Head Coach Remi Allen added: “I’m really pleased to welcome Aimee to the club and add her experience and quality to the group ahead of this season.
“She’s still young but she already knows exactly what it takes to win promotion from this league and survive in the WSL, which matches our ambition for the future of this club.”
