Tottenham drew against Manchester United on Sunday and after her team’s capitulation, Amanda Nilden is looking forward to getting revenge when the teams face off again next week.
Spurs threw away a three goal lead in the WSL on a milestone afternoon for Martin Ho.
Amanda Nilden: Tottenham want revenge
The draw against United certainly felt like a loss for Tottenham considering the circumstances.
Spurs blew a three goal lead to the Red Devils, with all of the hosts’ goals coming in the last 15 minutes of the game.
Despite the disappointing result Amanda Nilden was keen to try and find some positives from the draw.
“I hope we can keep going like this, take steps every game and improve. It’s good for us to learn from conceding late, and next week there’s another game, so we go again.” Nilden said post-match.

“I see it as a positive thing. Conceding so late gives us motivation to come back with revenge and show again that we can play good football like we did in the first half. I’m excited for that game and we definitely have a lot more to come.”
Tottenham and United face off again next weekend in arguably a more important League Cup game.
The League Cup quarter-final is a make or break game for Spurs in the competition, having only ever made it to this stage once in their history.
Spurs still progressing
There is no doubt that Tottenham are still improving as a team in Martin Ho’s first season in charge.
Having already matched their points tally from the league last year, Spurs fans will be pleased with the direction the club is heading in.
“We’re progressing every day. I feel we have more to come and it’s so fun to play football right now,” Nilden continued.
After such a positive turnaround this season, the North London club has gone from a relegation battle to contending for Europe.

Only the top three teams in the WSL qualify for the Champions League but there is just four points between Chelsea in second and Spurs in fifth.
Drawing with United was a setback for Spurs, who would have entered the top four with a win.
While Tottenham are certainly still underdogs to qualify for Europe this season, there is still a long way to go until the end of the campaign and they could cause an upset.
