Chelsea edged Manchester United 1-0 in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final played in front of 77,390 at Wembley Stadium.

High drama in the first 25 seconds saw Leah Galton put the ball in the net for United but Ella Toone, who delivered the cross, was flagged offside.

Just after the half-hour mark, Millie Turner got a deflected shot away from Katie Zelem’s free kick but Ann-Katrin Berger did well to make the save.

Galton flashed a shot over the bar from Alessia Russo’s deflected driven cross, while close to the break Mary Earps had to claw a Lauren James header away from the far post.

Midway through the second half, Reiten fed Pernille Harder who slid the ball across for Sam Kerr to finish.

Galton almost levelled with just about the last touch but Berger got enough on the effort to help keep it out.
