The SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup group stage ties got underway and featured an impressive draw for Glasgow Women away at Celtic.

Spartans 1-0 St Johnstone
GROUP D
Forfar Farmington 2-0 Kilmarnock
All other games postponed
SWPL 2 side Glasgow Women kicked off with a goalless draw away to Celtic in Group A. The hosts were left frustrated and might have made the breakthrough in the last few minutes, however, both Lisa Robertson and Rachel Donaldson were denied by Natalie Docherty.
Spartans are the early leaders of the group after they began with a narrow win over lower division St Johnstone thanks to Becky Galbraith’s effort 10 minutes from time.
The only other game to beat Storm Clara was in Group D where Forfar Farmington defeated Kilmarnock 2-0. Forfar opened the scoring when Anne Metz won a free-kick and Cassie Cowper delivered for Hannah Stewart to poke home. The lead was doubled 5 minutes into the second half when Simpson set up Stewart to sweep in her second goal of the day. Cheryl Kilcoyne almost made it 3-0 late on but was denied by the crossbar
