SWPL: Glasgow City get stoppage-time winner at Motherwell Women

There were second Scottish Women’s Premier League wins for Rangers, Celtic and Glasgow City but the latter left it very late.

Rangers ran in eight goals at Aberdeen, Lizzie Arnot netting two in either half.

Celtic won 2-0 at Partick, where Lucy Ashworth’s opener was added to by a Chloe Craig penalty.

A 97th minute breakthrough from Jenna Clark gave Glasgow City the points at Motherwell

Dundee United netted four times in a 20-minute spell at Glasgow Women, Cassie Cowper, Tammy Harkin, Jade McLaren and Rachel Todd the scorers.

Hibs’ Crystal Thomas hit a hat-trick against Hamilton, while Spartans took the points home at Hearts where Becky Galbraith levelled and the winner came from an own-goal.

A single goal at East Fife saw St Johnstone the only side in SWPL2 on maximum points from two games.

Montrose and Kilmarnock drew to both move on to four points, a second-half equaliser from Mhairi Fyfe following Aimee Ridgeway’s penalty for the home side.

Boroughmuir came away from Stirling University 4-1 winners, while Queen’s Park edged Gartcairn 2-1 with Abby Callaghan’s two first-half goals.
