SWPL: Celtic Women gain ground as top two draw

The top of the table clash in the Scottish Women’s Premier League between Glasgow City and Rangers ended one apiece.

Celtic 3-0 Hearts
Hamilton Academical 1-5 Partick Thistle
Dundee United 2-1 Spartans
Motherwell 4-1 Aberdeen
Glasgow City 1-1 Rangers

Celtic beat Hearts 3-0 to move within a point of the top two, who drew one apiece. Lauren Davidson gave Glasgow City a second-half lead in front of 540 at Petershill Park but Rangers levelled through Tessel Middag on 70 minutes.

Partick Thistle and Hibernian gained ground on fourth-placed Hearts with clear away wins, Motherwell and Dundee United each climbed a couple of places with home victories.

Kilmarnock 1-0 Boroughmuir Thistle
Queen’s Park 2-1 St Johnstone
Stirling University 0-4 Montrose

Top two Gartcairn and Montrose won on the road, Kilmarnock leapfrogged Boroughmuir Thistle by beating them 1-0, Queen’s Park had a good 2-1 result over St Johnstone.
