Boroughmuir Thistle will enter SBS Scottish Women’s Premier League 2 for the 2020 campaign, following the withdrawal of Hutchison Vale.
Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) had been advised by Hutchison Vale FC that they will not enter a senior team into SWF competitions for the 2020 season. The side would have been playing in SWPL 2 alongside nine other teams.
Both Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who finished second in SWFL Division 1 North, and Boroughmuir Thistle, who finished fifth in SWFL Division 1 South (the next promotion spot) were approached to make the stepo up.
While Inverness did not express an interest in promotion at this time, Thistle did and will therefore enter SWPL 2 and replace Hutchison Vale in all listed fixtures.
